Majority of People Support the New Speed Limit

There has been a lot of ‘bad press’ around the introduction of 20 mph speed limits in Bristol. I believe someone on the Bristol Council suggested that if they had the money they would restore the previous limits. However Bristol Live reported on 29 May that a consultation with 3500 people suggested that they were largely in favour of the new limits. The review was called for by the current Bristol Mayor.

Almost all residential roads in Bristol are now 20 mph. With the introduction of 20 mph limits in Wales, Edinburgh and parts of London the roll out of 20 mph speed limits in residential areas continues apace.

It is a pity our own county council suggests that we ‘do not go there’.
