I see that we have a working phone box thanks to just an email from the Village Association to BT. It still looks quite sad but I also understand from their Facebook page that the Village Association has authority from BT to clean up the box. Good luck with that one people!!!
It has been a concern of mine and some villagers, that the lack of a mobile signal and a working phone made this a bad place to have a visitor medical emergency. We now need to make sure that visitors are aware that the phone works. Perhaps a sign on the box? “This is a Working Public Telephone”. This will confirm that it is neither defunct nor adopted. We could also do with a “Defibrillator This Way” sign outside the pub car park to be seen from the road. Its location is not obvious and not everyone uses the car park entrance into the pub.
