Wood Hall Manor I have always had an interest in historic houses which is just passing interest and not an obsession. Whenever I see on a map a legend that says 'so and so' Hall or 'so and so' Manor I like to Google it and see what the house and the grounds are like … Continue reading The Homes of the Squires
Trust in ? Further Update
The Trust Hall may have a lot of little foibles; freezing in winter until the new heating was put in, dampish until the french drain was added, and on the edge of the village not in the heart but it is an asset to the village, not just the WI. I have attended many functions … Continue reading Trust in ? Further Update
Hedgehog Homes
I see that the homes have arrived and are in place. It will be interesting to see how they are occupied in this coming winter.
Affordable Homes for Hedgehogs
Looking at the Village Association Facebook page I can see that the Hedgehog Homes are finally in place. Hopefully these will provide a permanent dwellings for the little creatures and without any Government relaxation in planning regulations.
A Village With a Shop

What a very worthwhile aim for this strange little creature. I have dug out some facts about … Continue reading Hedgehog City
The Return of the Motor Vehicle

Shower of Sh*t
I notice from the Shottisham WhatsApp (Social) that there seems to be a outbreak of dog's poo being left around the village. I have seen from my recent walks that there does seem to be noticeable increase in the incidence of unattended piles on the foot paths. On the walk from the edge of the … Continue reading Shower of Sh*t
Overtaken by IT by not Embracing it (Update)
(Well done to Bawdsey Parish Council who are holding their next meeting by Zoom video conferencing and are inviting emails from Parishioners who wish to join the meeting) I am a member of a group of people with a common leisure interest. Nothing formal, just a group of friends, albeit large, with a common set … Continue reading Overtaken by IT by not Embracing it (Update)
Give us This Day our Daily Flour
First I would like to say I am not good at cooking. When you look at the best chefs on Saturday Morning Kitchen the one piece of equipment that you will not see on their counters, unless they are doing a 'teach in', is a set of scales. Jamie the Chief Chef of Essex says … Continue reading Give us This Day our Daily Flour
